Dawn Naquin

Dawn Naquin is a happily married (21 years) mother of 2. She has a 13-year old son and a 10-year old daughter (whom she has the honor of coaching - basketball and softball).

Dawn has been a personal trainer certified by ACE (American Council on Exercise) for 20 years.  She is also a certified Health Coach with ACE and a certified Exercise Physiologist with ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine). She has a business degree from Nicholls State University that she puts to good use as a small business owner.

Dawn has owned and operated Liberty Fitness for 13 years.  She coaches boot camp classes 3 days a week at her gym and hosts a run group from her house 3 days a week.  Workouts include strength, power, agility, speed, balance and mobility training.  All classes have different ability and experience levels.  The workouts are scale-able so that everyone gets in a challenging, fun, effective and doable workout. Her favorite part of training and coaching is the privilege of witnessing someone achieve greater fitness levels than they ever imagined for themselves.  Fitness has been a lifelong passion of hers and Dawn absolutely love teaching others how to incorporate fitness into their busy lives.

Dawn's fitness career has always led her to try new things.  One of those things was triathlon 7 years ago.  After teaching herself how to swim and borrowing a bike, she raced a super sprint and got super hooked.  Dawn became a solid competitive age grouper at sprint and Olympic distance races.  Shortly after beginning her triathlon journey, she was afforded the opportunity to become the director of VMR.  Dawn has been the director of VMR for nearly 7 years (almost as long as she has been racing).  She has since graduated from shorter distances to 70.3 distance earning Ironman All World Athlete Silver status for 2017.  Dawn has also been on Team Zoot for 3 years.
